Jesus said, “The harvest truly is plentiful but the laborers are few.” The School of Ministry is a new teaching ministry designed to equip those who have a desire to dig deeper into the Word and see that knowledge be used in fruitful ways whether in the body here at Calvary or in their ministry to the world as a whole. Our goal for CCSoM is to equip those who have a desire to serve and be a vessel “useful for the Master.” The classes offered will focus on learning the Scriptures, with an emphasis on knowing what and why we believe certain teachings, understanding how to effectively disciple others and implementing this knowledge in service to others. The classes will take place on Monday evenings from 6-9 p.m., in three trimesters of 10 weeks each, starting September 13th and going through to next summer. Pastor Steve will teach the first class on Biblical Distinctives. It will examine what makes the Calvary Chapel movement distinct from the work God is performing in other areas of His Body. Subjects will include the Study of the Scriptures (Bibliology), the Study of Last Things (Eschatology), the Study of Christ and the Holy Spirit (Christology, Pneumatology), and the Study of Salvation (Soteriology), among others. One of the requirements for all students in the School of Ministry will be weekly service in some area of ministry here at Calvary. If you are not already involved in ministry here, we will have specific ministry opportunities for you. If you would like to be equipped to be more involved in ministry, this is the place for you..
